Ricardo Miyares joined the FAMIS leadership team as Chief Executive Officer and Tribal Leader back in May 2008. Ricardo is leading the company through a period of dynamic transformation powered by strategy and a vision to be the nation’s largest distributor within the industrial coatings and finishing trade market.
Prior to joining FAMIS, he served as owner, Chief Executive Officer and Tribal Leader at Miami Chemical, a boutique style, import – export chemical distribution company which surpassed $70MM in revenue preceding its acquisition by Shrieve Chemical in 2017. By 2003, Ricardo had also acquired and started several ventures in
the Industrial Chemicals, Coatings and Adhesives space, such as Southeastern Chemical (SeChem) and Weld-All International.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Miami, he earned his master’s degree in International Business Administration from the University of Miami and Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Florida Atlantic University.
Ricardo serves on the Board of Directors of The Special Olympics of Miami-Dade County and is very active in supporting various programs around adults with Special Needs.
